N The Know Cares 4 U, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities by expanding access to nutritious food, essential resources, supportive services, and long-term stability opportunities.
Through our Food 4 The Soul Program and community outreach initiatives, we serve seniors, veterans and disabled veterans, women and children, individuals experiencing housing instability, individuals experiencing homelessness or unsheltered living situations, and families navigating financial hardship throughout Collin County and surrounding communities. By partnering with volunteers, businesses, faith-based organizations, and community agencies, we work to reduce barriers to food access, improve quality of life, and create pathways toward stability, self-sufficiency, and hope.
Our mission is to provide essential assistance, supportive services, and nutritious food through our Food 4 The Soul Program while connecting individuals and families to critical resources that promote stability, dignity, hope, and long-term self-sufficiency.

Teresa Nelson founded N The Know Cares 4 U with a simple but powerful belief: when people come together with purpose, compassion, and structure, lives change.
With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience, Teresa brings strategic discipline and heartfelt service into every initiative she leads. Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, her professional background spans sales leadership, marketing strategy, insurance operations, real estate services, project management, and digital innovation. She holds multiple professional licenses, including insurance and real estate credentials Teresa Nelson 2024 Resume, reflecting her commitment to excellence, compliance, and accountability in every space she serves.
But beyond credentials and business success, Teresa’s greatest passion has always been people.
N The Know Cares 4 U was created out of Teresa’s desire to meet real needs with real solutions — not just temporary relief, but structured support delivered with dignity.

Delores C. Wilson is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and a retired Federal Agent with a distinguished career in public service and leadership. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Wilson, Wilson, and Associates, a corporate and organizational training and development firm, and as Vice President of MDW Ventures, Inc., a company specializing in real estate investment and development. In addition, she is the Chair of the Board of Directors for N The Know Cares 4 U, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving veterans, seniors, single parents, families in crisis, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
A deeply community-conscious leader, Mrs. Wilson is actively engaged in numerous civic, charitable, and service-oriented initiatives. Her extensive board and leadership service includes roles as Chair of the North Dallas Suburban Foundation, board member of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Dallas CAN! Academy, The Foundation for Diversity and Excellence, and Elevate Me 4 Success; Chair of Our Society Ball; and Chair of the Board for Supplying Our Seniors. She is also a certified volunteer who teaches educational workshops for AARP and supports organizations such as A Way Out Project and Anna’s House.
Mrs. Wilson holds lifetime memberships in the National Council of Negro Women and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, A Service Sorority Founded in 1913, and maintains active memberships in The Links, Incorporated, the NAACP, and Zeta Epsilon Pi Sorority, a sorority that unites military spouses for charitable and educational purposes. In recognition of her lifelong dedication to service and community impact, she was honored in 2024 as a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
A strong advocate for lifelong learning, Mrs. Wilson holds a Master of Arts degree in Adult Education. She has been married to her husband, Marion E. Wilson, for 51 years and is the proud mother of four daughters.
Dame Eva Miles is a distinguished community leader and ordained minister with
over 35 years of dedicated service across North Texas. As the visionary founder of
Anna’s House Shelter, Communities of Tomorrow DFW, and the Texas Teen
Summit, she has built a lasting legacy of advocacy for domestic violence survivors
and youth empowerment. Her commitment to service is anchored in her deep-
rooted faith, beginning with her ;Kids in Dark Streets t; ministry in 1990 and
continuing through her influential leadership with the Black United Fund of Texas.
Her tireless efforts have earned prestigious honors, including the Presidential
Lifetime Achievement Award and an Imperial and Royal Proclamation from the
House of Ghassan. Beyond her organizational leadership, Eva is a devoted
grandmother and mentor, currently spearheading major initiatives like the Black
History Month ;Honoring the Past, Powering the Future t; event and fundraising to
secure the future of Anna’s House. Whether organizing toy drives that have
donated thousands of gifts or mentoring the next generation of leaders, her life’s
work remains focused on creating a more equitable and compassionate.
Crystal Wilburn, Broker, PMP, CPTM, EA is the brainchild and driving force behind Wellspring Mortgage and Investments, a full service nationwide mortgage brokerage and investment firm founded in 1999. A native of Chicago Wilburn brings nearly three decades of plausible mortgage, real estate and investment expertise to this venture. Wilburn, is a graduate of Southern California University for Professional Studies (SCUP) and her balanced, customer-centric approach to business has allowed her to become one of the most respected voices in the industry. Wilburn has skillfully guided her organization from start-up status to one of the most respected firms nationwide offering a suite of mortgage, financial and small business consulting services. Her willingness to serve is what fuels her drive and has helped to differentiate her from others who are just intent on closing deals. Integrity, passion and dignity are the hallmarks of her personal brand and she will continue to share them with those she serves. In addition, Wilburn is also the founder of LiftUP Communities, an investment and consulting entity that focuses on asset acquisition, community development and the provision of sound investment strategies. The firm enters the market seeking to capitalize on the high volume of properties located throughout the nation which have largely gone unnoticed including single family, multifamily dwellings, retail and commercial real estate. Unlike most firms that are simply set on acquiring assets, our model is one that also sees us empowering through a number of programs that center on the needs of the historically disenfranchised population. Tamara Woody (Tammy) | Board Member
Tamara Woody (Tammy) is a retired United States Marine Corps veteran with 20 years of honorable service and a lifelong commitment to community volunteerism. Throughout her military career, her dedication to others earned her prestigious recognitions, including the Military Volunteer Service Medal and the Presidential Service Award. Following her retirement, Tamara earned her MBA and translated her leadership skills into the classroom, developing and teaching life-skills training in financial literacy, computer technology, and job readiness to empower those in transition.
Tamara joined the board after experiencing the organization’s impact firsthand as a volunteer and attendee. Driven by a desire to support the nonprofit’s long-term sustainability, she leverages a diverse background in service that spans youth sports coaching to assisting families facing homelessness or financial crisis. Now residing in Collin County, Tamara remains a steadfast advocate for connecting people with the practical resources and supportive relationships they need to build lasting stability. Her unique combination of strategic leadership and hands-on experience makes her an invaluable asset to our mission.
